I was recently asked to contribute to a group show that is opening this Saturday at Gallery Nucleus. The title of the show is "Baker's Dozen",with the idea that all of the contributing artists illustrate popular idioms.

For my first piece, I chose the phrase "Drink Like a Fish". Why shouldn't sea creatures enjoy a nice cocktail party once in a while?

And for my second piece, I decided on "An Elephant in the Room". A circus seemed like the appropriate venue for such an expression.

Here is all of the show information from the gallery:
Baker's Dozen - Illustrated Idioms
June 11, 2011 - July 4, 2011
Opening Reception / Jun 11, 7:00PM - 11:00PM
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a few words can make a delightfully pretty picture. This exhibit has 13 diverse, and notable artists visually exploring their favorite idiom.
A range of aesthetics and mediums will be on display in this playful exhibit that includes drawings, paintings, lithographs, paper-cuts and more!
Featured Artists:
- Ming Ong
- You Byun
- Brittney Lee
- Matte Stephans
- Dadu Shin
- Catia Chien
- Miki Sato
- Nicole Gustafsson
- Lorena Alverez
- Ahren Hertel

This is my first time visiting your site and I'm blown away. I saw your art mentioned on the Epbot blog and clicked through to check out more of your work. The paper cuts are impossibly beautiful, but I especially love the style of your two-dimensional work. I'm off to etsy now to purchase one of your birds prints.
I'm a huge Disney fan, so thank you for sharing some of those projects. Looking forward to hearing more about the auction you mentioned. And looking forward to seeing more of your art in future posts!
You manage to show us something different every time you pursue a new paper-craft project. These pieces are so adorable, and I especially love the characterized fish holding the wine glasses. :) Simply adorable and wonderful use of color! I hope folks will enjoy seeing your artwork at the gallery!
Really beautiful !!!!
I love your work, its fascinating, the way you design the shapes, so recognisable, and the warmth of your colours.
I hope we had one exhibition of your work here in London, it would be great to see your masterpieces at the real size.
I have a question for you, it keeps intriguing me how do you do to keep different layers on your paper illustrations? and what type of frame do you use for that? the normal frames would flatten the artwork.
Thanks and please keep up your amazing art, its very inspiring!!
beautiful work. So ornate.
Beautiful work! I like the layers and colors!
Oh my God! I'm in shock ... how can you make these wonders with your hands?Awesome!Really, it was marvelous! How do you do? A greeting from Spain ...
