One of my very favorite movies is M. Night Shyamalan's
Signs. It still scares me every time I watch it. Since this week's Illustration Friday topic is "Emergency", I decided that an absolutely frightening situation would be appropriate. The alien invasion just slightly beat out my nightmare of being chased by velociraptors (which I have had repeatedly since I was about nine years old.) I used the house from
Signs and even put Bo on the swingset. She doesn't even see the aliens attacking!
Busy, busy week, but I'm finally going home tomorrow! Hopefully I will be able to post fun things from PA.
Have a great Thursday!
this is great! :D yup! absolutely will be an emergency.....

ReplyDeletethis is great. I love the perspective, the light and the colours you used.
ReplyDeleteAmazing illusion of depth even while utilizing an abstract perspective on the house and swingset. textures are juicy and the colors are sweet. I really love this one, the tilt, the fence lead-in...your illustrations on fantastic. Definitely bookmarked!
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! Wow, I'm really not used to people actually looking at my stuff - the comments are much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteRy - I do use photoshop for everything that I do digitally (which has been all of my most recent work). I have a few sets of custom brushes from friends that help with texture and I tend to use lots of layers. Thanks for asking!
I really like that. Found you through qubox. How long do you spend on something like that? Have you got a Deviant Art profile?

ReplyDeleteI do believe her dA goes by the name of BabyEmber. But also, I'm not sure if it's the genuine Brittney Lee or someone who draws in a similar style. Sorry if I confuse you, and once again sorry of this is incorrect.
